Design
The vision for this home was to create interiors that were sympathetic to a mid-century architectural feel, while introducing a modern twist that would align with today’s way of living.
The owners wanted spaces that celebrated openness and the surrounding views, but also provided intimate retreats for family life and entertaining.
The layout achieves this balance beautifully. Expansive living areas flow toward the ocean and harbor outlook, while more private spaces such as the media room, the parents’ lounge, and the rooftop bar offer cozy escapes.
Together, these create a rhythm of openness and intimacy throughout the home.
The color palette was carefully selected to harmonize with the exterior and the natural environment. Soft tones reflect the ocean, beach, and surrounding landscape, grounding the interiors in their setting while ensuring a calm, cohesive atmosphere.
To complement the bespoke cabinetry, we introduced statement pieces with cultural depth and character: for example, the Antique Indian doors as you enter the hidden whiskey and wine room and the wall sconces there from an old chateau in France - these all add layers of texture and storytelling, ensuring the home feels unique and personal.
Lighting design was approached with sensitivity. Knowing the home would be filled with natural light, we avoided competing with it. Instead, lighting choices were made to enhance the evenings and highlight features without overwhelming the architecture. Similarly, extensive work went into ensuring comfort: every room benefits from individual climate controlled air conditioning with dedicated heat pump units all hidden and seamlessly feeding into the central system as well as underfloor heating in the bathrooms.
For me, there are several standout parts of the home. The sense of arrival in the foyer is unforgettable—walking in and watching the harbour open up before you never fails to inspire. The tasting room is another favourite, offering both atmosphere and purpose. And the kitchen, with its generous scale and large butler’s pantry is a true entertainer’s dream—functional, elegant, and effortlessly supportive of modern living.
This home is a rare combination of architectural integrity, modern comfort, and personal storytelling—an interior that feels both timeless and deeply connected to its natural environment and the beautiful Harbour beyond.
